ROBERT GORDON

There is a great difference between having a great voice and being a great singer. ROBERT GORDON has a great voice and is a great singer. Born in Washington D.C., ROBERT has been in bands for more than thirty years, giving him a wealth of experience (and emotions) on which to draw. Particularly in
his early days, he had a fondness, bordering on obsession, for the music of Elvis Presley, Gene Vincent and Jack Scott, music that was basic roots rock'n'roll.

ROBERT moved to New York in 1970, his vision of music focused and his voice committed to that vision. In 1976, he joined Tuff Darts, one of the top New Wave/punk bands in the early CBGB's/Max's scene. In 1979, having become a recognizable name and voice in New York, he launched his solo career with
the release of Robert Gordon with Link Wray, a collaborative effort with legendary guitarist Link Wray. This release also demonstrated a critical element of ROBERT GORDON as a solo performer - he has always placed a tremendous value on the guitar, viewing it as a complement to his voice rather than a competitor for the audience's attention. This belief was
further reinforced through ROBERT's 1980s releases - Rock Billy Boogie, Are You Gonna Be The One and Bad Boy - each featured ROBERT's inimitable voice backed by the guitar of Chris Spedding and/or Danny Gatton.

All For The Love Of Rock'n'Roll, ROBERT GORDON's new release, presents a more diverse style than anything he's previously done. As usual, ROBERT has surrounded himself with quality players including guitarists Chris Spedding, Danny Gatton and Jon Paris. The rythm section features Rob Stoner (Rolling Thunder Review) on bass and Drummer supremo Bobby Chouinard (ex-Billy Squier, Gary Moore Band). Musically, All For The Love... is a hard hitting collection of songs ranging from the Jack Scott lament "Goodbye Baby" to Iggy Pop's "Beside You", five Tuff Darts tracks rerecorded for this release reuniting ROBERT with original TD guitarist Jeff Salen and five brand new songs written by ROBERT. ALL 12 songs share one thing in common - theypositively jump out of the stereo, raving feriously. This is the record ROBERT GORDON has been working towards his whole career. It is a treasure.
