LAST CALL is an independent french record label with an eclectic catalogue that displays it's dedication to musical freedom. Created in 1994 by Patrick Mathe one of the founders of New Rose. Our aim is to release music with roots, soul and guts, wherever it comes from. We do not care about fashion, trends or hype. We just follow our feeling and trust our ears, and we believe that in the globalized and formatted world of today, there is still hope for talent , creativity and honest music. The medias say that the record industry is dying ; if they are talking about the major companies who have been digging their own grave for the last two decades, caring about immediate profit and spending fortunes on marketing rather than helping true artists making a career, we are not sorry about it. Music has become an industry; it is time it becomes again what it should always have been; a labour of love made by dedicatredf craftsmen . Of course, like everybody else, we need to sell records. It is the only way to survive, especially for independent labels. Your are welcome to download , burn and copy any music we release , but from time to time, remember it is a pleasure to buy a CD, and that this is the only way we and our artitsts can keep releasing the music we love. You will find a wide range of music in our catalog; from american rock (Elliott Murphy, Alex Chilton, Calvin Russell , Chris Spedding and many others) to south american (Soledad Bravo, Angel Parra) , tibetan music (Lama Gyurme), Cuban, gypsy and of course french music (Michel Hermon, Sheriff, Lolitas) . We love diversity because we think that a record label should be open to all kinds of great music, as long as it has soul. Enjoy yourself , keep supporting genuine music, and those who make it.
