DES D'OÙ ? DINGUES With their 45 musicians, a rich and varied repertoire and after more than 70 concerts, festivals and défilés, The Fanfare Des d'Où ? Dingues ( " The Brass Band of Cool-Crazies, From Where ? " ) of Paris, France are proud to present their first record. Founded in 1997 by Frédéric Firmin (Martinique) and Andrew Crocker (U.S.A.), this brass and percussion ensemble is an on-going musical workshop uniting professional and amateur musicians from all walks of life from the different communities of the Paris area. Through it's musical excellence, pure, unbridled enthusiasm and surprisingly diverse repertoire of French, Carribean, American, Eastern European and African songs and grooves, Fanfare Des d'Où ? Dingues have reached fans of all ages. In the streets, clubs and concert halls through-out France the band has grown to be a reference in the burgeoning brass-band movement. Because of it's multiple projects with theater groups, visual artists, street performers, Art centers and conservatories, The Fanfare Des d'Où ? Dingues has continued to evolve over the years into a project that has found a place in the larger artistic community, not only in Paris, but also in its multi-cultural suburbs and other cities and regions of France. The depth of this experience is reflected in the audacious arrangements of some of the most popular songs in the world.
