"Live at the Longbranch and more" MODERN LOVERS - Live At The Longbranch And More 3038212 CD - 1998 trailblazer, precociously exploring minimalist rock years before such behavior became popular. Not only was his unique approach enormously influential on later bands, original members of Modern Lovers went on to become successful in such groups as Talking Heads (Jerry Harrison) and the Cars (David Robinson). That live CD - recorded between 1972 and 1973 -, is totally smashing (though rough) and contains all of Richman's classic creations : "Roadrunner", "Pablo Picasso", "Girlfriend", "She Cracked"... Modern Lovers was a pop band of epic proportions, and was fantastic live, too ! Real moments of cult and pleasure ! |
