Triny is a vocal trio- from the Czech Republic - Iveta Kovacova, Dagmar Podkonicka, Jana Tyserova - and in their own words they explain their tantalizing musical adventure : " Long ago we discovered the miracle that we don't have to talk, or be choked with joy or anger, or nourish that rock of sadness and pain when it festers inside. It suffices to sing. We met at the Prague Conservatory. We are three girls : Iveta-Kalo Muj (the dark one), Dsÿa-Parno Tiral (pale-white), and Jana-Guli Chaj (sweet little girl) ".

The girls acquired these gypsy nicknames a few years later after meeting. Iveta explains : "I painted the girls with several strong extracts from walnuts and brought them to my beautiful brothers. We rode on wild stallions, slept under the stars, and chatted... Now, we want to fill your senses with these wild and exotic melodies and thus help you grasp a little piece of this slightly different world ".

Produced by the flamboyant Ivan Kral (guitarist and composer with Patti Smith !), this debut album is as passionate, moving and persuasive as an atomic lullaby ! A gem !

IVAN KRAL

- Born in Prague in 1948.

- With his parents, leaves for New York in 1966.

- Makes his studies in the N.Y. University.

- In the early 70's, plays with different bands - with Deborah Harry, etc... and then joins the Patti Smith Group / 4 albums : Horses, Radio Ethiopia, Easter, Wave.

- Records two albums with Iggy Pop : Soldier, Party.

- Comes back to Prague in 1994 where he records his solo albums : Nostalgia, Clear Eyes.

- Produces some local bands including Triny.

- His song " Bang Bang " has been covered by David Bowie.

- " Dancing Barefoot " covered by U2, The Mission, Simple Minds.
